2008 Walleye Steelhead Pro-Am Team Tournament

This past weekend, we had the privilege of being the host sponsor of the 2008 FishUSA.com EPSFA Walleye Steelhead Pro-Am Team Tournament. Over the three years this tournament has been held on the pristine Pennsylvania waters of Lake Erie, it has grown to include 53 boats, 21 Pro and 32 Amateur. The cash and prizes awarded totaled over $26,000!

In the Pro Division, Captain Todd Pavlik and his team, Pacific Time, edged Captain Paul Czarnecki and his team, Free Spirit, by 11.55 points. Czarnecki also tallied the largest steelhead of the tournament topping the scales at 11.3 pounds. The largest walleye taken in the Pro Division over the weekend was caught by Captain Todd McKinny and his team, Wolfman.

In the Amateur Division, Captain Matt Cannon and Storm Warning II decisively won the division topping Captain Sam Hines and Silverbullet by 47.05 points. Hines and Silverbullet also took the largest steelhead in the Division, weighing 11.25 pounds. The largest walleye taken in the Amateur Division over the weekend was caught by Captain Gary Mills and Z Monster. He actually weighed in two walleye that topped the scales at 10.25 pounds and 10.3 pounds, both large enough to take the Big Walleye Award for the Amateur Division.

Overall, it turned out to be a very competitive and exciting tournament. The fish were biting (for most) and the weather was great all weekend. We here at FishUSA are proud to be part of such an event and hope to see this event continue for years to come.
